Safe anywhere: travel, Wi-Fi and devices

Protect your travel documents, your Wi-Fi, your conversations, your electronics and the space around you, with a hands-on fake cafe Wi-Fi to see what an attacker on the same network can read. Covers all five steps of the Senior Cybersecurity 2: Safeguards badge.

Time
About 2 hours, in two sittings
Steps
5 badge steps, 1 with a pretend network to try on the page
You need
A computer, Chromebook or tablet. Printing is optional: every step works on screen. No account needed.

$5 for one scout: every step, the Network Simulator activities that check the work, the printable lesson, and the certificate with a page of the scout's own work.

A home Wi-Fi network in the network simulator: a laptop, a phone, a smart TV and a game console linked by dashed Wi-Fi lines, with a message leaving the phone.
